Mission Statement
The mission of the Region X Head Start Association is to improve the quality of life of Head Start children, families and staff by:
- Providing training
- Providing advocacy
- Providing networking opportunities
in today's changing times by coordinating the efforts of the state associations of Alaska, Idaho, Oregon and Washington.
The Role of the Region X Head Start Association
- Communication: Give advice to the Region X Head Start Regional Office (comes from aggregate of state Head Start association input).
- Networking: Coordinate and develop policy that impacts Head Start programs (legislative, advocacy, national).
- Networking/communication: Coordinate communication among states.
- Training: Identify and develop responses to emerging trends, issues, and practices at the program, association and national levels.
- Advocacy: Actively represent the Region X states at the National Head Start Association.
