Region X Head Start Association is an affiliate of the National Head Start Association.
The National Head Start Association (NHSA) is a private, nonprofit membership organization that advocates for Head Start in Congress and supports all members of the Head Start community: Head Start professionals, parents, volunteers, and anyone else dedicated to helping America's disadvantaged families. On behalf of its membership (primarily composed of Head Start directors, staff, and parents of children currently enrolled in Head Start), the association strives to:

Define and implement strategies for maintaining, improving, and funding the Head Start program

Provide training and professional development services

Advocate for the provision of quality services to the Head Start community, including the training and professional development of Head Start staff

Advocate for measures that support the development of children and that assist parents in meeting their family's needs including becoming economically self-sufficient

Develop and disseminate research, information, and resources that impact children and family-oriented legislation and Head Start program development.
