Idaho Head Start Association

The Idaho Head Start Association is a private non-profit organization that represents 12 Idaho Head Start programs and 2,421 children. It is governed by a 49 member Board of Directors. The current members of the Idaho Head Start Association and the past President make up the Board of Directors. Each Head Start grantee may have up to four voting members represented on the Board. The four voting members from each program include one director, one staff member, and one parent member. The fourth member is determined at the local grantee level and is recognized as a friend representative.

The Mission: The Idaho Head Start Association is to advocate for and generate an awareness of IHSA's needs, philosophies, and contribution in all facets of the state in order to maximize the potential of the Head Start children and families.

The members focus on current issues that affect Idaho Head Start and families and staff by belonging to committees. During the IHSA meetings members caucus by affiliate. The Idaho Head Start Association meets formally, three times a year.
